Two calves were killed in an unusual manner Sunday night in Wes Seibel's barn on his farm southeast of town. One of the Holsteins had been castrated and drained of blood. The other had a 12-inch diameter perfect circle cut out of its upper shoulder area.
Rev. and Mrs. J.C. Grunau of Parkside Apartments were honored at a noon dinner in the Parkside dinning room on their 65th anniversary Sept. 1.
Four new workers at the Tabor College Center for Life Long Learning in Marion County are JoAnn Wall, continuing education coordinator; Janette Brubacher, Marion County Community education coordinator; Joyce Locket, 60 Plus senior program coordinator; and Mary Classen, community services coordinator.
Debbie Rempel will serve for two years as coordinator of community tutoring services in Philadelphia. Her assignment is with Mennonite Voluntary Service. She is a graduate of Bethel College and the daughter of Lloyd and Francis Rempel of Hillsboro.
Mr. and Mrs. Karl Suderman were Sunday evening guests of Esther Lindteigen.
Mr. and Mrs. Dave Klassen were Sunday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Wiens.
Mr. and Mrs. Allen Heinrichs spent the weekend in Oklahoma City, Cordell and Corn, Okla. They attended a Heinrichs' cousin reunion in Cordell Saturday evening.
