More than 60 walkers participated in the CROP Walk on their 10-miles trek into Hillsboro. The walkers raised approximately $2,890.
Jack Braun, drama director at Tabor College, has announced the 14-member cast for the Homecoming weekend drama "No Name in the Street" to be given Oct. 6, 7, and 8. The cast includes Phil Bartel and Emery Wiens from Hillsboro. Ron Hiebert of Hillsboro is a member of the technical crew.
The ladies' triple trio of the Hillsboro Golden Years Club gave a program at the Golden Years Club Tuesday. Members of the singing group include Mrs. L.J. Frantz, Mrs. C.K. Klassen, Mrs. P.D. Leppke, Mrs. Herman Nickel, Mrs. H.E. Nickel, Mrs. D.V. Wiebe, Miss Elizabeth Ewert, Mrs. Sam Unruh, Mrs. G.S. Warkentin, and Mrs. Herb Hodel.
Ruben and Walter Kliewer were visited by Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Kliewer of Enid, Okla. Miss Lillian Penner of Bakersfield, Calif., came to see her uncles, the Kliewer brothers.
Mr. and Mrs. John Frantz spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Max Loveless of Antelope in their mini-home at the Milford Dam. Terry Frantz spent the weekend with Brad Abrahams.
The 600-700 block families on First Street gave a patio party in honor of Mrs. Gary Suderman and family Sept. 14. The party, which was at the Paul Ediger home, welcomed the Sudermans to the neighborhood. Those attending included Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Haney and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dan G. Jost, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Ediger, and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Regier.
