Glen Suderman, a 1973 graduate of Hillsboro High School, has been hired for the position of recreation director and activities coordinator for the city of Hillsboro and USD 410.
Earl Bartlett, formerly a Santa Fe station agent in Hillsboro, will portray the station master in the "Mary White" show on ABC television Friday evening. Lola Suderman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Les Suderman, rides horse in one of the scenes.
Ron and Sharon Suderman of rural Hillsboro announce the birth of their daughter, Nichole Rae, born Nov. 8 at Bethel Hospital in Newton. She has a brother Danny, 4, and sister Diane, 2.
Leann Funk, a sophomore coed at Hillsboro High School, earned a spot on the 1977 Mid-Kansas League all-league volleyball team. Carla Calam, Debbie Ratzlaff and Danita Funk received honorable mention.
Doug Dick captured his second straight Mid-Kansas League punting title with an average of 38.2 yards per boot. Dick won the total a year ago with a 36.8-yard average. Dick was fourth in pass receiving with 20 catches for 265 yards and second in kickoffs with 24 for 1,266 yards.
Bob Jantz of Hillsboro has joined the butcher staff at Paul and Ray's Supermarket, He will assume the position of John Knaak who retired after 19 years of work with Paul and Ray's.
The meeting set up to discuss the organization of a Hillsboro Historical Society has been postponed to Dec. 18. The meeting will be open to all people interested in setting up the planned widely based society.
Frieda Suderman of Hillsboro was elected president of the Golden Years Inc. of Marion County.
