Don Klassen, administrator for Salem Hospital in Hillsboro for the past six years, announced his resignation last Thursday. He will work with Mennonite Board of Missions and Charities, which operates hospitals throughout the U.S. as well as overseas.
Mr. and Mrs. Rex Regier announce the birth of their son, Ryan Alan, born June 18 at Axtell Christian Hospital in Newton. Ryan has an older brother, Chris, age 3. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Jack Regier of Hillsboro and the Rev. and Mrs. J.H. Epp of Garden City. Great-grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Harry B. Funk and Mrs. H.J. Regier, all of Hillsboro.
John Craft, who taught at Hillsboro High School a year ago, is one of the many individuals who are trying new methods to find answers to the energy crisis. His method is harnessing the wind. After years of honing and perfecting his ideas on wind power, Craft is now designing the Windcraft 2500, a wind electric system which connects directly into a home or business's existing electrical system. The cost is about $5,900 installed, but federal and state tax credits are available to purchasers.
Danita Funk and Brian Unrau were married in the Hillsboro M.B. Church Saturday night, and they "got away" in style — in a long, black limousine. The car was a surprise rented by one of the fathers.
