Hillsboro had a "lucky" Fourth of July weekend in avoiding fires, but that luck ran out Monday when a fire caused several thousand dollars to the Marvin Ratzlaff home three miles north of town. The Ratzlaffs moved their salvageable furniture and property into their old house nearby until the new house can be repaired.
