New coaches at Hillsboro include Judy Hiebert, junior high school volleyball; Glenn Suderman, high school volleyball; Dan Thiessen, Tabor College football; and Brenda Dinsmore, high school tennis.
Mr. and Mrs. Pete H. Klassen returned from Loveland, Colo., where they attended open house for the new studio of radio station KLOV, owned by their son Daryle Klassen and Mrs. Klassen.
Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Menno Jost and Mark were Mr. and Mrs. Norman Funk and family. Rev. and Mrs. Gary Wiens and family and Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Patek, all of Hillsboro.
The 40th wedding anniversary of C.F. and Lillian Plett of 206 S. Floral Drive was celebrated Monday evening, Aug. 28. The garden celebration was held at the Don Rosfeld farm and was hosted by Don and Mary Rosfeld and Phil and Sharon Plett.
The class of 1939 recently presented a gift to Carroll Ediger, USD 410 librarian, for the purchase of several books in memory of those classmates who are no longer living. Those honored were Leo Loewen, Harrison Koop, Joel Friesen, Harold Voth and Arthur Schmidt.
Hillsboro was represented by the 48-member Hillsboro High School marching band at the Florence Labor Day parade Sept. 2. Paul Epp is the director of the band.
Captains of the Hillsboro High School Trojan football team are seniors Mike Albrecht, Max Heinrichs, and Brad Neuenschwander.
Coach Jana Clark announced the members of the 1978 Tabor College volleyball. The twelve players, including Grace Jaworsky and Rachel Schultz, were selected following try outs.
