The Hillsboro High School football team scored two second half touchdowns Friday night to claim a win in their season opener over Southeast of Saline, 13-0. Quarterback Jerold Heide ran in the first six-pointer while Lonnie Funk recovered a fumble in the endzone for the other score.

Two hearings for zoning changes and conditional uses were scheduled Monday and Tuesday. Monday night the Zoning Board of Appeals will hear a request for conditional use for a plumbing shop by Harley Koop at his residence at 206 S. Date.
Tuesday the council will hear requests for zoning changes from Bob Arnold, who wishes to construct a duplex at Floral Drive and Grand, and Mike Chesterfield, who plans to sell a lot at the corner of Cedar and Second.
