Donna Pankratz and Tim Diener exchanged marriage vows Saturday, Sept. 15, at Trinity Mennonite Church in Hillsboro. The Rev. Harvey Friez performed the double ring ceremony. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Paul Pankratz of Durham and Mr. and Mrs. Truman Diener of Hillsboro.

Esther Loewen Vogt, Hillsboro author, has a story she wrote about her grandfather, Jacob Loewen, printed in the September issue of Kanhistique, a monthly magazine on Kansas history.

Artist of the month got under way at Hillsboro Elementary School last week. September artist Emma Flaming, well-known in the Hillsboro and surrounding areas, visited with the youngsters Thursday.

Sandy Funk's Holstein brought home the grand championship in 4-H Holsteins from the Kansas State Fair. Funk, Hillsboro High School sophomore, is a member of Silver Creek 4-H Club. This is her second grand championship in three years.

Tabor College football team showed impressive strength on both offense and defense as they defeated St. Mary of the Plains 32-15 Saturday at Reimer Field.

The United Methodist Church of Goodland was the setting Sept. 2 of the marriage of Pamela Kay Yoke, Goodland, and Arlen Fayne Riesen, Hillsboro.
