Mr. and Mrs. Edwin D. Stucky of Moundridge announce the engagement of their daughter, Vianne, to Randy Hagen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Hagen of Hillsboro. The bride-elect is a 1975 graduate of Salt City Business College. Her fiancé is a 1977 graduate of Tabor College.
Lee Erickson would have liked to have won the last two games of the season, but his 1977-78 Tabor College Bluejays posted a 13-11 record during the past campaign and finished 8-8 in the KCAC for a third place tie with Friends University.
HUD has given tentative site approval to the West Grand Street location for the Hillsboro Housing Authority's housing project. Franklin Harms, chairman of the authority, made that announcement Monday night. The site is on Grand Street, north between Elm and Date streets.
Hillsboro High School girls' basketball team enters 2A sub-state play for the first time ever when they tackle Mid-Kansas League Champion Moundridge in the Thursday night game at Halstead. The Trojans are 13-8, and the Wildcats are 21-1.
Paul Jantzen, 20-year science instructor at Hillsboro High School, was granted a one-year leave of absence to teach at Bethel College next school year.
