Hillsboro High School's homecoming candidates are Kim Franz, Carmen Schmidt, Melanie Kessler, Marcia Reimer, and Shelly Helmer.

Mr. and Mrs. Jeral Pankratz of Hillsboro announce the birth of their daughter, Paula Beth, born Sept. 14.

Mr. and Mrs. Ken Chisholm announce the birth of their third child, Kara Autumn born Sept. 29 in Newton.

Something that has been very rare lately, four babies at one time in the Salem Hospital Nursery. Two boys and two girls were born in a three-day span.
