The new Lutheran Church is beginning to take shape. Monday contractor Henry Wiebe raised three of the big arches which support part of the roof and constitute part of the walls and ceilings.

The Schroeder Motor Company has presented the vocational agriculture department of the high school a new GMC one-half ton pickup to use in the transportation of students on field trips, out-of-town judging trips, and for use by the agriculture instructor to supervise projects of the vo-ag students.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bliss moved from 215 S. Cedar to 301 N. Main.

Barbara Lee Bonesteel celebrated her eighth birthday Oct. 20 by inviting a group of playmates in for a TV party. The guests were Ann Janzen, Kay Francis Scharping, Roger Funk, Ruth Ann Funk, Sharon Jost, Judy Ann Franz, Roetta Cornelsen, Patty Penner, Alma Stelting, Annette Schlichting, Alan Eitzen, Rosie Marie Knaak, Dennis and Juanita Ediger, and Brenda and Barbara Bonesteel.

Miss Marolyn Schellenberg was crowned homecoming queen at the football game. Attendants were Karen Suderman, Nancy Jantz and Bernice Fast. The queen was crowned by Larry Penner. Escorts to the attendants were Karl Jost, Jim Franz, and Wayne Wiens. The Trojanettes marched onto the field forming a path for the entry. The band formed a heart at the top of the pedestal formed by the Trojanettes, and it was in this heart that the crowning took place.

Playing one of their best games of the season before a large Homecoming crowd, the HHS Trojans upset the Council Grove Braves 12-7 Oct. 16.
