4-H club meets
On Sept. 3, 2002, the Goessel Goal Getters had an important meeting. This meeting was when the Purple Seal Ceremony was held and record books were turned in. The 4-H'ers also guessed the weight of a giant cookie. It weighed in at 1 lb. 7 oz. and was won by Janessa Wedel.
The meeting was also important because it was election night. The 33 present members elected their new officers as follows: Scott Ferguson as president; Matt Tippin as vice president; Jennifer Schmidt as secretary; J.D. Tippin as treasurer; Anthony Esau as sr. reporter; Evan Esau and Olivia Regier as council members; Megan Wedel and Ryan Goertzen as sr. historians; Morgan Ashpole and Cari Tippin as pledge leaders; Kent Duerksen and Karis Janzen as song leaders; Cameron Stultz as jr. vice president; Jake Smucker as jr. reporter; Adam Meysing and Logan Schraeder, jr. historians.
The club also played a round of member bingo, and the 4-H'ers tried to find other members who had participated in an activity and get them to sign their sheet. The object was to get a bingo.
And so ends an exciting year at the Goessel Goal Getters 4-H Club!
Youth in the Goessel area ages seven to 19 who are interested in joining 4-H should contact Aileen Esau (367-2358) or Mark and Lori Jenkins (367-2390).
