Herbert Nickel and Harry Dyck, both of Hillsboro, have purchased the building and stock of the Second Hand Store from Mr. and Mrs. D.J. Klaassen.

Mr. and Mrs. Jac. Bartel drove to Wichita Saturday night where they were overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kizler.

Agnes Peters was honored on her birthday Monday evening at her home. The evening was spent with visiting and singing German songs accompanied with guitar by Miss Peters and with the accordion by her brother Johnny Peters.

Mr. and Mrs. Jake Herbel were hosts for a potluck supper Friday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schroeder returned home Thursday from a two-week vacation in California. They visited with relatives and friends at various places. Mrs. John C. Penner and Mrs. Martin Jost remained for a longer visit.

The class A district basketball tournament opened Wednesday night in the Marion gymnasium and will continue through March 6. The teams playing are Buhler, Hillsboro, Lindsborg, Marion, Nickerson, and Council Grove.

Dogs in Hillsboro shall not disturb the peace and quiet. When such conditions exist, make your complaint to the city police.

President John N.C. Hiebert and Tabor's popular male octet will travel to Oklahoma Sunday March 8 to give three programs.

A/C Richard Franz who was formerly stationed at Goodfellow Air Base in San Angelo, Texas, has been transferred to Roster Air Base at Victoria, Texas, where he is completing pilot training in T-33 Jet trainers.
