Byron Unruh, proprietor of the Hillsboro Oil Co., has announced the formal opening if his service station on Highway 50 in the southwest part of the city.
San Ore Construction Co., of McPherson, was the successful bidder and has been awarded a contract by the Hillsboro Public Schools to level and grade the new athletic field located on the recreation area of the airport at Hillsboro.
A group of relatives and friends gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Kliewer in Hillsboro Feb. 28 to celebrate the birthday of Mrs. Kliewer. The evening was spent in singing and listening to instrumental numbers.
The occasion was also for the birthday of Mr. G.T. Goossen, whose birthday was the Tuesday previous. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. G.T. Goossen, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Klassen, G.P. Ewert and daughter, Betty, Mr. and Mrs. John Block, Mr. and Mrs. John Buller and Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Penner.
