Elmer Kroeker and Willis Nachtigal were fined for throwing snowballs at a passing car and breaking a window.
Recently a group of younger lads were driving around during a snow storm and throwing snowballs from their car. They threw one at an approaching car, and it happened to be the police car. The young fellows were invited to the police office and given a lecture and no doubt were glad to get off so easy. This is a dangerous practice and is going to be stopped.
Dr. and Mrs. Herbert Eitzen attended the annual meeting of the alumni association of the University of Kansas City School of Dentistry at the Hotel President. This was also the 20th anniversary of Dr. Etizen's class.
Jim Donahue of Durham had a narrow escape from serious injury and drowning last Saturday night when he was on his way from Durham to Hillsboro. He attempted to turn onto the narrow bridge over Silver Creek, hit a steel banister rail and tree and evidently turned completely over with the car landing right side up in the creek. He crawled out of the vehicle through the broken windshield.
The Girl Scout Troop No. 2 of Hillsboro will be selling cookies in some of the stores Saturday. The profits will be used for some community service in the near future. The cookies will be sold for 35 cents a box.
