Hillsboro's street department is doing a commendable job of keeping our streets clean. It is, however, necessary that citizens cooperate in refraining from washing their cars on the paved and blacktop streets which leaves mud deposits, also not to rake leaves and rubbish into the street to burn. Burning of leaves and trash ruins blacktop and causes cracks in concrete and brick paving.
The weather in general during January and February was so quiet and dry as hardly to be newsworthy. About the beginning of March, however, things began to change with storms, rain and snow becoming more plentiful. The rainfall for March was 2.05 inches; the snowfall was 8.4 inches.
