Two business places in Durham were broken into last Thursday night, the Rock Island Depot and The Goertz Hardware. As far as is known, nothing was taken from the depot, but H.P. Goertz reports the loss of three rifles.
Four strange people, two men and two girls, spent all day in Durham Thursday and were in and out of practically every business place in town. Their presence aroused some suspicion, and for a time Thursday night several merchants watched their stores but gave up their vigil later in the evening.
Karen Gorte was a Saturday supper guest of Mr. and Mrs. Art Penner and Elizabeth.
Delford Winter, USN stationed in Dan Diego, is home on leave.
Rev. and Mrs. Roy Henry and children returned Thursday evening from Bloomington, Ind., where Rev. Henry attended the University of Indiana for three weeks.

Marietta Friesen left Monday evening for Newton where she joined a group of girls and from there they went on to Colorado for a week long vacation.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hamm and son, Jerry, and daughter, Billie Kay, were Sunday visitors and supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Lawrence.
