Hillsboro citizens have formed a very bad habit — jumping into their cars and following close behind the first trucks when the fire alarm sounds. Last Sunday in the matter of a few minutes, people had the streets so congested that it would have almost been impossible to get another truck or an ambulance through had it been necessary. It is reported that one car even cut across in front of the police car which had the siren going and a red light flashing. City officials have decided to have the officers enforce the traffic rules as they apply to fires, etc. So spectators had better familiarize themselves with the rules or receive traffic violation tickets and the resulting fines.
