Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hiebert and Calvin Jay were supper guests Saturday of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Scharping and family.
Miss Ruby June Suderman is again working at the Plenert Café after several weeks vacation in California.
LaVada and Vera David were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Funk and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Duerksen in Manhattan.
Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Weiderstein and children and Mr. Leo Weiderstein were dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Weiderstein and sons.
Miss Anna Enns called her sister Tuesday evening from New York before boarding the ship en route to Africa, sailing early Wednesday morning, Miss Enns is traveling on a freighter with six other passengers, six of whom are missionaries.
Dr. Leonard J. Franz, dean of Tabor college, was recently appointed as one of four members on an evaluation committee which considered the accreditation of the Miltonvale Junior College, a Wesleyan Methodist School, at Miltonvale.
Ray S. Walker was fined $5 and costs for passing a truck at the intersection at the caution light on Highway 50. He was driving at the rate of 35 miles per hour. Edmund Robert Grothe was fined $7.50 and costs for driving 40 miles per hour on Main Street and failing to stop at stop signs.
