Appointment of Mr. Leslie Sperling as instrumental music teacher for the Hillsboro schools was announced this week by Mr. Herold Regier, school superintendent. Mr. Sperling will replace Mr. Richard Krysl.
Mr. and Mrs. A.H. Dyck were Wednesday dinner guests of Dr. and Mrs. Herbert Eitzen.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry B. Funk spent last weekend in Denver with their son, Arlys and Mrs. Funk.
Mr. and Mrs. Pete Just and Doris had as Sunday dinner guests Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Just and Mr. Leander Lohrenz of Wichita.
A birthday party was held Tuesday evening in honor of Miss Alma Schmidt at her home. The evening was spent in playing games, and Miss Schmidt served refreshments. Those present were Mrs. August Nuss, Leota Ewy, Katherine Nickel, Elizabeth Plett, Irene Penner and the honored guest.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Michael returned Thursday from a five-week vacation in California.
