The Hillsboro-Star Journal, consolidation of the former Hillsboro Star and The Journal Weekly, in operation since the first of the year, became the property of Mr. and Mrs. C.P. Ashcraft Thursday of last week. The Ashcrafts held the major share of stock and now the sole owners.

The "big doin's" for the 75th anniversary of Hillsboro and the 100th anniversary of Kansas are scheduled to start taking place next week with the huge historical pageant to b put on by the combined grades of the elementary and high schools.

S/Sgt. and Mrs. Loren Nuss and sons of Topeka spent from Saturday to Tuesday visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Zimmerman and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Nuss.

Mrs. Harold Jost was hostess to a party for her daughter Annette's fourth birthday Saturday afternoon in College Park. After playing games and looking for Easter eggs, ice cream and cookies were served to Jay Dennis and Ray Allen Schmidt, Janet Grothe, Ronnie Koop, and Christie and Loren Jost. Howard Jost, Annette's brother, who was 10 on the same day, spent a very quiet birthday at home nursing a case of the mumps.

Mr. and Mrs. P.H. Schroeder, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Wiebe and Clark had Easter dinner in Wichita with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jantz and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Menno M. Hiebert of rural Hillsboro celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary Wednesday evening at the Alexanderwohl Church.

Dr. and Mrs. Franklin Harms had Easter dinner with Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Wiebe.

Mr. and Mrs. H.N. Goertz and Mrs. Bonnie Jeter of Newton were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Norton Goertz and family Easter dinner.
