Kyle Kliewer, 11-month-old son of Mr. And Mrs. Orville Kliewer, swallowed a dime Monday. After examination it was thought the coin had passed on into the stomach. It was not until Thursday, when Mrs. Kliewer felt all was not right with the youngster, that physicians found through fluroscopy that the coin was still lodged in the esophagus. An esophagotomy was performed and the coin removed. The baby returned home Sunday from the hospital and is completely recovered.
The Selective Service office at Marion has released the names of Hillsboro men who will leave for physical examinations Oct. 25. Men called are Donald Braun, Walter Friesen, and Edward Janzen.
Students from this area attending Kansas State College, Manhattan, are Carl Henry Dahl, Monroe Lyle Funk, Daniel Schmidt, and Luetta Bartel of Hillsboro and Patricia Ahlstrom of Durham.
The Hillsboro High School Trojans, still trying to get in the win column, dropped their third CVL game last Friday when Hope took their measure 26-13 on the home field.
S.-Sgt. and Mrs. Loren Nuss and boys were Wednesday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Ratzlaff.
Young Bobby Suderman, 11-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Levi Suderman, was host to a "strictly stag" birthday party at the Suderman home south of Hillsboro Sunday afternoon.
