Approximately 120 young people were present Sunday afternoon and evening in the Zion Lutheran Church attending the fall rally of the Walther League zone 6.

Sunday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ennis Unruh were Mr. and Mrs. Albert Unruh of Goessel and Mr. and Mrs. Charley Voth of Hesston.

Mrs. E.J. Penner, superintendent of Salem Home, and Mrs. D.J. Klassen are attending a nurse's workers meeting in Topeka this week.

Raymond A. Willems, machinist's mate third class, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry K. Willems of Hillsboro, was scheduled to return to San Diego Sunday, Oct. 17, from a tour of duty in the Far East. Raymond serves aboard the destroyer USS Lofberg.

Mrs. John J. Bartel returned home Tuesday after spending a week with her sister Mrs. Rex Eubanks, Mr. Eubanks, and Pamela Jean Dick in Kansas City.

Mr. and Mrs. Ed Wiederstein and family were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. P. N. Funk at Potwin to celebrate Janet Wiederstein's and Carol Ann Funk's birthdays.

The Hillsboro Trojans traveled to Council Grove last Friday and came home with their first win in the Cottonwood Valley League by defeating Council Grove 20-13. Jim Franz scored the first touchdown and Jerry Harder added the extra point.

J.V. Friesen, president of the chamber of commerce, this week urged the people of Hillsboro and community to open their homes in an all-out effort to adequately accommodate all delegates and visitors to the Triennial Mennonite Brethren Conference being held here Oct. 23-Oct. 28.

Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Bruce attended the McPherson County Editorial Association meeting at Canton Sunday evening.
