Gary David Herbel, Janet Yvonne Regier, and Donald Paul Foth are students at Wichita University in Wichita.
Miss Darlene Klassen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman D. Klassen of Hillsboro, became the bride of Malvin Wesley Schmidt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew H. Schmidt of Hillsboro. The bride is a graduate of Collinsville, Okla., High School and is employed in the office of the Central Kansas Co-operative Creamery. Mr. Schmidt is a graduate of Hillsboro High School and is engaged in farming.
Mrs. Julia Berg returned home Saturday from Newton where she spent the past week with Mr. and Mrs. Herman Boehnke.
Miss Vera David was honored with a picnic supper Tuesday evening at the home of Miss Gertrude Hett. Those present were the girls who work in the bank: Miss Lois Weber, Miss Ruth Ann Bartel, Miss Vera David, and Miss Gertrude Hett.
Lewis Hagen has received his discharge from the Marines and arrived home Wednesday. He has been stationed at Camp Pendelton, Oceanside, Calif.
The following young men from Hillsboro have been notified by the local selective service board to report for physical examinations: Lowell Kliewer, Donovan Janzen, Kenneth Barkman, Willis Ensz, John Plenert, Earl Hiebert, Ralph Hiebert, Eldred Kunkel, and Eldon Wiens.
