The Tabor College Bluejays begin their 1953-54 season against Friends University at Wichita Dec. 1. The first home game will be Dec. 15 with Bethel. This will be the first of a seven game home series.

Mr. and Mrs. Ray Franz entertained a group of friends at a chili supper Monday evening. The guests were Mr. and Mrs. John Eitzen Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Jost, Mr. and Mrs. Norton Jost and Clarice, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hiebert and Carrol, and Mr. and Mrs. Allen Hagen, Gary and Roger.

Mr. and Mrs. Ben L. Penner and Janice and Mr. and Mrs. Julius Penner and family were Sunday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. F.H. Penner. Evening callers were Mr. and Mrs. Albert F. Bartel and Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Reimer and Darla.

Mrs. Benjamin Waltner of 202 S. Birch entertained Nov. 12 with a candle light buffet supper honoring the birthday of Mrs. William V. Lemont of Aulne. Mrs. Waltner was Mrs. Lemont's first nurse as a baby.

H.W. Schroeder, local barber, completed 30 years of service last week. Mr. Schroeder started in the barber business in Hillsboro in the late fall of 1923 and outside of change in locations has been at his chair daily, except for vacations and short periods of illness, during all these years.

The new 250,000 bushel elevator being built by the Farmers Equity Union is going up steadily since the pouring of concrete was started about a week ago.

Miss Florence Hefley and Mrs. Elmer Pankratz and Linda drove to Little River Tuesday afternoon to visit Mrs. Kenneth Nelson.

Prof. J.P. Rogalsky and Mr. J.H. Warkentin were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. J.K. Warkentin.
