In an action at the county courthouse in Marion, Friday, Nov. 26, according to an Associated Press story, the Central Kansas Cooperative Creamery Association here, and two of its officers pleaded guilty to the charge of buying contaminated cream and selling unwholesome butter.

The contract for Hillsboro's Memorial Park swimming pool was signed last Tuesday night in a meeting of the city council. Fascal Paddock, Oklahoma City contractor, was the successful bidder with a bid of less than $55,000 which was accepted and work on the new pool is expected to get underway in about 10 days.

A change has had to be instituted within this county in regard to setting aside of special numbers in car license plates. All tag buyers will have to take their turn and accept the tag number that comes up at that time.

Mr. and Mrs. J.P. Ewert entertained at a pre-Thanksgiving dinner last Tuesday. Guests were Mr. G.F. Reissig, Mr. and Mrs. J.F. Janzen, Mr. and Mrs. G.F. Herbel and Jack, Pvt. Don Herbel, Dr. and Mrs. Wilbur Ediger and Rochelle of McPherson.

Raymond Willems is spending a 10-day leave with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Henry K. Willems. Raymond is being transferred to Great Lakes Naval Base.

Levi T. Buller, head of the Buller Manufacturing Company, was named this week as president of Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce.
