An early day resident of the Brudertal community, Mrs. N. J. Hiebert, died December 9 at the home of her eldest daughter, Mrs. Sol Mouttet in Chouteau, Okla.

Miss Anne Comtesse, of Riom, France, is a houseguest of Mr. and Mrs. Ed G. Jost and Norma. Miss Comtesse is an exchange student at Goshen College, and has served in M.C.C. Children's Home, and also helped in the translation of English Vacation Bible school material to be used by the French Mennonite church.

Dean Batt, Marion attorney, announces that beginning Tuesday, January 4, he will maintain a law office in Hillsboro.

A $300,000 expansion program for Tabor College was included in a long-range plan for the Unified Educational program proposed by the board of education of the Mennonite Brethren churches of North America at their meeting in Fresno, Calif., on December 14. This program will require the building on the Tabor College campus of a library, dormitory, music hall and science hall.

A surprise birthday party, in honor of Wesley Loewen, was carried out Wednesday at the Loewen home. The employees of Loewen Radio were guests. Lovely refreshments were served by Mr. Loewen before the guests departed.

The Hillsboro Hi Trojan basketball squad and their coaches are in Hutchinson this Thursday attending a basketball clinic being conducted in connection with the Central Intercollegiate holiday basketball tournament held in the area.

The turning of the calendar to the new year 1955 is expected to slip in quietly here this Friday night. Several of the churches in this community have planned "Watch Night" services. Services will begin at 8 o'clock in the evening after which a social hour will be held, to be followed by the "watch night" service.
