Rollind Olson, city superintendent of light and water, handed in his resignation from that position to the city council at its meeting Tuesday night in order to accept a similar position in Minneapolis, Kansas.

At a board of education meeting Monday evening, February 14, H. B. Kliewer, high school principal here for the past seven years, was named superintendent of Hillsboro Public Schools for the 1955-56 school year.

Jim Banman, Lehigh, a sophomore student at Bethel College in Newton, has been named the new editor-in-chief of the "Bethel Collegian" semi-monthly college newspaper. Jim is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jake Banman, Lehigh.

Bill Ewert, a graduate of Hillsboro High school and former Brudertal community resident, now a junior at Bethel, was also named to the Collegian staff as business manager.

Tabor Bluejays won an overtime Mid — Kansas Conference game last Friday night at the high school gym when they came from behind to down the Sterling Warriors 78-73.

Luetta Bartel has been appointed to the steering committee for Hospitality Days, the open house to be held April 15 and 16 by the School of Home Economics at Kansas State College in Manhattan. Miss Bartel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben J. Bartel of Hillsboro, will be in charge of preparing lunches for the guests at Hospitality Days. She is a senior at Kansas State, majoring in dietetics and institutional management.

Mrs. A. C. Eitzen, who with her husband and daughter, recently completed a European and Holy Land tour, was the program speaker at the February meeting of the local American Legion Auxiliary unit, Tuesday, February 8.
