The post office and the Ferd Unruh store at Lehigh were victims in a robbery which occurred some time after midnight Monday night. The post office safe with all its contents was removed. At the Ferd Unruh store across the street, the burglars took two small radios. The time of the robbery was set at around 1:30 a.m.

Mr. and Mrs. Bob Jaeger of Lawrence announce the birth of their son on Tuesday morning, June 16. Mrs. L. G. Jaeger of Hillsboro is the paternal grandmother.

T/Sgt. and Mrs. Carl Bolte of Shreveport, La., are visiting his parents Mr. and Mrs. Herman Bolte and other relatives for several weeks.

Hillsboro Cub Scout Pack 129 is holding a backyard camp for dens 2, 3 and 4. Camping started Tuesday evening and ends Saturday. Backyard camp inspection will be held Thursday evening, June 18, starting at 7 p.m. at the John Jaworsky home, second inspection at Herb Scharping home and third inspection at Harry Helmer's home.

The council wishes to thank the people of Hillsboro for the cooperation given when you were asked to shut down on water for irrigation and car washing. This let us fill or reservoir and get our tower filled. However, when restrictions were removed, the demand was so great that we could not hold the pressure for 24 hours and have decreased the amount of water in the reservoir steadily.

The Civil Service Commission has extended the deadline to June 23 for filing applications in the examination for postmaster at Hillsboro. Applications are available at the post office.
