A farewell party was held Sunday evening in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Art Jantz and family who are moving to Lindsborg in the near future. A social hour was held and refreshments of cup cakes, cookies and ice cream bars were served at Hillsboro Park.
P.A. Koslowsky celebrated his 75th birthday July 4. His wife and youngest daughter invited several of their friends to a watermelon fest at 4 p.m.
Mr. and Mrs. Florian Krotz and Charles left Wednesday for San Antonio, Texas, to make their home.
Mr. and Mrs. Herb Jost and family and Mr. and Mrs. Jake Jost and J. Donavan had a picnic in the park Sunday evening.
Members of the newly organized golf club met in the city hall Monday evening and elected officers. Jake Herbel was elected as the chairman. Dr. Franklin Harms was elected secretary. The grounds and greens committee is Herbert Friesen, Ralph Herdt, Edmumd Scharping, Bill Smith, and Tony Knak.
Membership dues for the Golf Club have been set at $10. One of the rules of play is that the course is closed from 10 a.m. to noon on Sunday. The course is not entirely completed due to the fact that part of the ground has been in grain and was just recently harvested. Several holes have been laid out.
