Ray Schlicting, a business administrator of Akron, Pa., has been named Tabor College business manager. He will move to Hillsboro in time to take up his duties this fall.

Robert Loewen, 7-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Loewen, suffered a badly mashed arm in an accident in Wichita last Thursday. Robert had accompanied his father to a warehouse, and while playing around a conveyor, his arm was pulled into the steel and rubber rollers to several inches above the elbow.

Rita Jo Beltz celebrated her seventh birthday Sunday afternoon by inviting several of her cousins and other friends in for a birthday party. The children present were Patty Penner, Cindy Goering, Mary Elizabeth Penner, Eleanor Berg, Gwendolyn Harms, Barbara Bernhardt, and John Gordon Beltz.

Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Bartel are the parents of a son, Marlin Kent, born July 17 at Bethesda Hospital in Goessel.

State highway contractors are about finished with the widening of the concrete pavement from the east edge of town to the intersection of Main at the hospital corner.

Maynard Hefley will leave today for Camp Carson, Colo., where the Army Reserves are in training until Aug. 10.

Dr. Dale Foley of Kansas City has purchased the dental office equipment of the late Dr. L.G. Jaeger and will reopen the office the first of August.
