S/Sgt. Harold W. Klein, son of Mr. and Mrs. C.F. Klein, Hillsboro was recently promoted to his present rank and is stationed at Osceola Air Force Station, Wisconsin.

Mr. and Mrs. Rollind Olson were honored guests at a pot luck supper Friday evening, March 11, given by city employees and their families. The group met in the city hall to have their farewell for the Olsons who will be leaving Hillsboro to move to Minneapolis, Kansas.

Private Wesley A. Pletcher, whose wife, Genny, lives in Tampa, Kansas, is playing basketball in Nuremberg, Germany, with the 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment team this season.

With a site chosen and staked out and contracts let, Durham is ready to begin work on its new $170,000.00 rural high school building.

Three Hillsboro High School senior girls won top honors for the fourth six weeks period by earning four A's. They were Carolee Balzer, Dorothy Ewert, and Elizabeth Hiebert.

According to Associated Press news last Friday, March 11, the U. S. Senate has confirmed the nomination of Arthur H. Penner as Hillsboro postmaster.

A telephone call to the sheriff's office by Dan J. Plett, farmer living west of Lehigh, resulted in the arrest of four out-of-state youths, March 8, for stealing gasoline from Plett's tractor. Three of the men were from Providence, R. I. and the fourth was an AWOL serviceman from Camp Chaffee, Arkansas.
