Mr. and Mrs. Abe Neufeld and sons who have been following the harvest this summer returned last week and were Sunday guests of Mrs. L.F. Bartel.
Doris Willems left Tuesday for Monument where she will be bridesmaid at the wedding of Miss Elaine Ratzlaff, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Abe Ratzlaff who are former residents of Marion County.
J.W. Warkentin, proprietor of the Hillsboro Hatchery and locker plant, appeared before the city council Tuesday evening with a request for that body to repeal an old ordinance pertaining to the slaughtering of livestock in the city limits. He asked that the city grant him permission to build an up-to-date slaughtering room in connection with the locker system.
