Hillsboro Public Schools will open on Tuesday, Sept. 2, according to Herold Regier, superintendent of schools.
Miss Bernice Thompson has resigned her position as associate professor of education and director of Tabor's elementary teacher training program. She has accepted a position in the elementary school system of Tulare, Calif.
John Gordon Beltz was the honored guest at a party Sunday afternoon to celebrate his 6th birthday. After a baseball game and various other games, his mother, Mrs. Clifford Beltz, served sandwiches, ice cream, cake and Kool Aid to Teddy Hiebert, Lyle Henry, Dale Regier, Harry Siemens, Douglas Penner, Bobbie Dalke, Larry and Glenn Weiderstein, Wayne and Carol Koch, Gordon Mohn and his mother Mrs. Oliver Mohn, Rita Jo Beltz and Mrs. Anna Beltz and Dorothy Beltz of Hutchinson.
Dr. and Mrs. Franklin Harms were Sunday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Heinrichs.
Helen Kay Schmidt celebrated her 7th birthday with a birthday party on Aug. 12. Eight girls were present to enjoy the games and refreshments of cup cakes, Ritz crackers and chocolate milk. The guests were Judy Franz, Patty Penner, Sharon Jost, Ann Janzen, Lois Nickel, Diana Jaworsky and Terrie Washmon.
Registration and enrollment opening the 45th year of Tabor College will be held Monday, Sept. 8, and Tuesday, Sept. 9. Class work will begin Wednesday, Sept. 10.
