The patrons of School District 82 voted 270-260 for issuing $175,000 of school bonds for improvements to the high school.
Mrs. Menno Harder and Bonnie entertained at an appreciation party a group of boys in the recreation room of their home on Keith Harder's 6th birthday from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 29. Those present were Harold Kliewer, Carl Dahl, Harold Hiebert, Donald Fast, Warren Dalke, Gregory Tompkins, Richard Jantz, Richard Knaak, Charles Suderman, Jerold and JoAnn Vogt, and Ruthie Kliewer.
Paul Pankratz became the third Trojan to be injured in the 1952 football season. In the final quarter of the last league game with Cottonwood Falls, Pankratz's foot caught in the cracked earth after he had made a 15-yard gain. The injury resulted in a broken bone above the ankle, and he is receiving treatment at the local hospital.
The Hillsboro Police Department is notifying violators of the speed limit and unusual noise law that they will be fined and upon a second violation the fines will be doubled. Speed and noise must be cut down to make a safer city to live in.
Lt. James Knaak arrived home Sunday for a visit with his mother, Mrs. Paul Knaak. He has just returned from Japan and Korea.
Dr. and Mrs. H.F. Janzen and family were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. F. Harms in McPherson.
Robert Dalke, postmaster, was able to return to his work Thursday after undergoing surgery.
Miss Carol Flaming of Wheaton, Ill, spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Flaming.
