Pete Flaming of the Farmers Equipment Co. thinks he set a record of some kind one day last week. He sold two trucks in one day, which is not a usual thing for a small dealer, but the most unusual part of the deal was he sold a truck to Ed W. Hein, and then later on the same day sold another pickup truck to Ed Ray Hein, a son of the former. Neither father nor son knew the other was going to buy a truck that day.
Beginning their second round of league basketball with another victory, the Trojan court hounds outplayed Herington 42-32 on the Hillsboro floor Friday night. Kenny Ollek led the team with 12 points.
Two Lehigh brothers and Army men recently met at the Camp Nara Rest and Recuperation Center in Japan for the first time since they left their hometown 14 months ago. PFC Gilmar Stubby managed a hurry-up leave just in time to see his brother, PFC Earl Stubby, during the last few hours of a five-day rest and recuperation leave from his outfit in Korea. They are the sons of Mr. and Mrs. Jake Stubby of Lehigh.
Mrs. Louis Hiebert entertained several boys at a birthday party for her son, Johnnie, Monday afternoon. Those present were Francis Funk, Loren Jost, Jay Dennis Schmidt, Carl Heinz and Johnnie.
Mrs. Loren Nuss and sons of Topeka and Mrs. Dave Zimmerman of Durham spent Tuesday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Pete Ratzlaff.
Miss Joan Dirks and Mr. James Donahue, both of Durham, were married Saturday evening, Jan. 24, in the Lutheran Church in Durham with only immediate relatives present.
