Plans are taking shape to make this year's Marion County Fair a particularly outstanding one with the observance of it's Silver Anniversary. Dr. W.M. Thies, fair secretary, says top-rank entertainment is in the process of being arranged for and the Cherokee Amusement Co. will also be on hand for fair week with rides and concessions. Advertising in the fair catalog is being handled by Levi Buller and commercial tent exhibitors are being contacted by George Boothe and Dr. Thies.

Following correspondence with the district and state highway officials for the past month, the city of Hillsboro has been granted permission to place a warning sign concerning the Memorial Air Park entrance. Since the entrance to the park area comes off highway 50-N, a federal highway, permission had to be secured before a sign could be posted.
A new type silo, the first of this community, has been set up on the Elmer Wall farm near Hillsboro. The structure is called an air cell silo because of the dead air cells in each stave. These are supposed to serve as an insulation in winter to help silage from freezing. The cost is purportedly the same as that of regular construction silos.
