Chester Unruh of Hillsboro will be featured on KTVH on the RFD program on Monday. Mr. Unruh, assisted by Marion County 4-H Agent Paul Mayginnes, will give a demonstration on preparing a dairy heifer for the show ring. Mr. Unruh, the dairy project leader of the Silver Creek 4-H Club is well-known for his work with the Ayrshire breed.
A dinner meeting at the Hotel warren in McPherson will bring directors of Highway 50 North Association together to discuss a possible change in the routing and naming of the highway through Kansas. The proposed change in routing would change the highway name to US55 starting from Kansas City. The route would continue to McPherson as it now does, then on to Larned, then southwest on what is now K45 to the Kansas-Oklahoma border at Elkhart,Kansas.
Many committees are beginning to function in preparation for the upcoming Marion County Fair. One of the outstanding events of the fair will be the countywide Queen Contest which will be open to any girl in the county between the ages of 14 to 21 who is sponsored by a Marion county club, civic group, or service organization. The winner of the contest will be eligible to compete in the 1956 Miss Kansas contest which is a preliminary competition for the national contest.
