The local Trojanmen rolled over the Marion Warriors 42-24 on enemy territory Friday night to cement a tie in the CVL number one spot with Peabody. After two quarters of exchanged scoring, the Trojans pulled ahead and held Marion to seven points throughout the second half.

Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schroeder, Mrs. John C. Penner and Mrs. Martin Jost left last Thursday morning for California where they will visit relatives. Merle Schroeder is staying at the Art Penner home during their absence.

Mrs. H.N. Goertz and Mrs. Carl Werner were hostesses for a party for Mrs. Nellie Maltby on her 81st birthday Monday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Goertz. The afternoon was spent in playing various games, and Mrs. Maltby was presented with a gift from the group. Those invited were Mrs. Maltby, Mrs. J.E. Sinclair, Mrs. Charles Thresher, Mrs. V.J. Boehringer, Mrs. Lela Jaeger, Mrs. P.F. Friesen, Mrs. A.C. Eitzen, Mrs. Dan Wohlgemuth, Mrs. J.R. Waldby, Mrs. Etta Rittgers and Mrs. C.P. Ashcraft.

Raymond Willems of San Diego, Calif., called his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry K. Willems, Thursday evening to let them know that his ship will be leaving Feb. 21 for Korea.

Miss Helen Loepp and Miss Norma Hodel visited in Manhattan Sunday with Twila Hodel who is attending K-State.

Mrs. Ann Hefley and Florence spent the weekend in Manhattan visiting Mr. and Mrs. R.A. Hefley and daughter and Miss Mary Ann Kohman.

Mr. and Mrs. Jac. Enns were guests of Mr. and Mrs. William Plenert Sunday evening.
