The Riffel Liquor Store on the highway at the southeast edge of Durham was looted of several cases of liquor Monday night. The loss is reported to be around $2,000.

With Jim Franz and Karl Jost capitalizing on sharp blocking, the Hillsboro Trojans broke a two-year hex and turned back the Buhler Crusaders by an 18-6 score at Plenert Field last Friday night.

Mrs. Chester Goertz was the guest of honor at a layette shower Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Jacob Bartel. The evening was spent playing games after which the honoree opened gifts. Those in attendance included Mrs. Bruno Goertz, Mrs. Art Funk, Mrs. Bill Calam, Mrs. H.E. Pankratz, Mrs. Jake Funk, Mrs. Art Penner, Mrs. Joe Jantz, Mrs. Henry Claassen, Mrs. Alvin Wiens, Mrs. Ed G. Jost.

Mrs. Ray Funk and Mrs. Lloyd Rempel were the honored guests at a layette shower Thursday evening at the home of the hostess, Mrs. Wilmer Goering. Guests included Mesdames W.E. Penner, Elmer Buhler, Alvin Funk, J.E. Rempel, Paul Rempel, Oliver Unruh, Wm. Andreas, D.U. Groening,

The Matz reunion was held Sunday, Sept. 20, at the Canada Band Hall. The group enjoyed a picnic dinner at noon and a short business meeting and a few musical numbers after dinner.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul H. Suderman are the parents of a son, Gregory Lynn, born Wednesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hiebert and Mr. and Mrs. Victor Hiebert were Monday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jake K. Jost.

Mrs. A.C. Eitzen, Mrs. Albert Vogt and Mrs. Arthur Balzer attended the YWCA conference in Wichita Friday and Saturday.
