A wire received by the Marion County A.S.C. office late Tuesday afternoon from the state office in Manhattan announced that Marion County has been named as a drought disaster area.

Hillsboro men called for induction by the Selective Service include Dwaine Klassen, Glenn Schattack, Henry Pankratz, Willis Ensz, and Donald Schlehuber.

The annual Gift Day of Salem Hospital will be observed Thursday, Oct. 7, in the basement of Mennonite Brethren Church. Donations are received of any usable gift for the hospital. Foodstuffs, linens, bedding, and cash donations have made up the greatest share of the gifts in past year.

A night football game between Marion and Hillsboro will be one of the features of the Old Settlers' Day which is being held in Marion today.

The first issue of Tabor College's Tabor View was published Sept. 24. Members of the view staff include: Loyal Martin, editor-in-chief, Corn, Okla., Ervin Ediger, business manager, Okeene, Okla., and Carrol Franz, news editor, Marilyn Hiebert, feature editor, Dwight Hodel, sports editor, and Doris Ratzlaff, secretary, all from Hillsboro.

The Hillsboro High School Trojans were out-manned and out-played last Friday night by a strong Florence 11 when they dropped their opening league game and first game on the new field at Memorial Park, 27-0.
