A New York columnist, Earl Wilson, who writes for Hall Syndicate, had quite an interview recently with a native to Hillsboro, Paul Friesen. Friesen is now a New Yorker, and a member of "The Toppers" the quartet appearing in recent weeks on the CBS Arthur Godfrey TV shows. The group also sings "On A Sunday Afternoon" radio show. Friesen told Wilson, "I've been singing practically all my life. Summer concerts are a big thing at home in Hillsboro; almost everyone can sing well. It's a religious community and everyone's right out of the baby buggy, singing in church."
