Excavation got well underway Wednesday for the initial start on the new educational annex for the Ebenfeld M.B. Church. The structure's cost is estimated at between $30,000 and $35,000.
Eighty-seven residents of Hillsboro receive financial assistance from the Marion County Welfare Department, according to available figures. Percentage-wise, they make up a low .04 of Hillsboro's 2131 population. A total of 481 people countywide are assisted by the welfare department, the largest number of whom come under old age assistance. Other assistance goes to the blind, dependent children, and the disabled.
Over 80 entries have been received in the county extension office for the 4-H Style Revue, and six boys have entered the Best Groomed Boy Contest. The judging will begin at 8:45 a.m. on August 19 in the Marion City Building basement.
