60+ LRP to hold annual Christmas coffee, concert years ago

The annual Christmas coffee and concert will conclude the fall semester of the 60+ Learning in Retirement Program Dec. 5.

The session will begin at 10 a.m. in the Wohlgemuth Music Education Center located on the Tabor College campus.

The 23-person Elyria Christian High School choir, directed by Jody Herwig, will provide inspirational holiday classics, including solos and new arrangements of classic carols.

Elyria Christian School, located in rural McPherson County, is accredited with the Association of Christian Schools International. The school was established in 1982 and currently has 205 students in grades K-12.

For this special session, the audience will sit at decorated tables. Everyone is encouraged to bring a plate of Christmas finger food to share at the beginning of the hour.

Older adults are invited to attend. To encourage participation, first-time visitors will be admitted free of charge. Discount lunch cards will be available at the door.

Christian rapper

to perform Dec. 6

at Tabor College

Christian hip-hop artist Lecrae will perform Dec. 6 at Tabor College.

The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Tabor College Chapel-Auditorium.

Lecrae's discography includes "Real Talk," released by Reach Records in July 2004. He is part of the group 116 Clique.

According to the concert's organizer, Tabor College senior Nick Anneler, the purpose of the event is to "bring students together to worship God and hear his message in a new form. I am trying to reach all students and allow them to feel the kingdom of God."

The concert is open to the public, and admission is free. Donations will be accepted for hurricane relief.

The concert is sponsored by the Tabor College Campus Ministries Council, Student Activities Board, and Multi-Cultural Student Union.
