'Left Behind' series will be topic of Tabor discussion

Loren Johns, associate professor of New Testament and academic dean at Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary, Elkhart, Ind., will give a presentation at Tabor College regarding the best-selling Christian fiction series Left Behind.

Johns' address will begin at 9 p.m. Feb. 27 in the Chapel-Auditorium and will conclude with a question and answer time.

According to Johns, the endtimes vision of the series is compelling for many Christians and yet appalling for others. His presentation will offer an appreciative critique of the ethical vision embodied in these 10 books in light of the Bible and historic Mennonite perspectives on Christ's final triumph.

The event is sponsored by Tabor's Bible, Religion and Philosophy Department.
