Round the Town: Family gathers for Hein/Miller reunion

The descendants of George Hein and Jacob Miller held a reunion picnic at Hillsboro City Building on Sunday, May 29. There were 60 family members from various towns — Salina, Moundridge, Haysville, Walton, Newton, Wichita, Valley Center, Hutchinson, Inman, Olathe, Tucson, Ariz., and Hillsboro — attending.

Chris and Denise Kostlac and children from Kansas City spent the weekend with their mother, Betty Medley. On Sunday, Betty and Richard attended a birthday party, celebrating Elise Schlehuber's fourth birthday at Marion.

Rachel Mohn spent several days in Chicago helping her friend Paula Mitchell and family pack to move to a different location in Chicago.

The Nuss family gathered for dinner on Sunday at the home of Stan and Penni Nuss and Lois Nuss. Present were Brian Nuss and family and Stan Nuss of Durham, Mark Nuss from McPherson, Brad and Sheila Nuss of Hillsboro, and the Gary Nuss family from Wichita.

A group of Hamm cousins met at Russels in Newton for dinner on Tuesday. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Mohn, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Pankratz, and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Hamm, all of Hillsboro; Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Hamm and Frances Kreutziger of Marion; Eldon Schwemmer of El Dorado; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Schwemmer of Newton; Raymond Schwemmer from Towanda; Elfea Townsend and her daughter Carolyn, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Schwemmer, and Lillian Dickens of Wichita.

Liz Kuhlman from St. Louis spent the weekend with her parents Dave and Mary Lancaster.

Joe and Penny Pucket from Ulysses were the weekend guests of Pearl Koch. Additional Saturday night guests were Craig and Kristen Pucket and Scott Pucket and friend from Kansas City. On Saturday morning Pearl and her guests attended the wedding of Connie Pucket and Adam Ortega in McPherson.
