'Round the Town: Isaac sells peaches for Wall benefit

On Sunday Elizabeth Helmer attended the 30th wedding anniversary celebration for Raymond and Denise Bina at the Catholic Church in Pilsen.
Don Isaac traveled to California where he got 40 boxes of peaches from their peach orchard and distributed them among Tabor faculty and staff. The donations for the peaches went into a benefit fund for Richard Wall.
Oliver and Frances Unruh and Beverly Elliott were guests for a cook out on Sunday at the home of Toni and Lynette Mull and Marcus at Newton. Other guests were Chrystal and Paul Aimsworth, Nick and Alec from Rogers, Ark., and Jamie and Traci Mull, Chris and Cole from Howard. They celebrated Nick's 5th birthday.
Elma Warkentine's Saturday dinner guests were Bob and Coleen Warkentine of Salina and Ron Warkentine of Hillsboro.
Bill and Betty Meier, Julie Meier, and Socco and Willabeth Gonzales from Newton traveled to Woodlawn Park, Colo., over the weekend where they attended the wedding reception for Eric and Candice Tuff.
Wilbur and Mildred Hanneman and Kerry and Rachel Hanneman and Malorie of Hillsboro were weekend guests at Gloria Hanneman's in Wichita. Other guests were Fred and Elaine Nelson, Mark and Brian from Overland Park; Del and Becky Hanneman, Audrey Hanneman and Brad Hanneman of Wichita; and Keith Hanneman from Pennsylvania.
Pastor Gaylord and Peggy Goertzen attended the U.S. Mennonite Conference in Utah. While there they received word of the death of Gaylord's father, Albert Goertzen at Reedley, Calif. From Utah the Goertzens went to California where Gaylord officiated at his father's funeral and also at the funeral for Peggy's uncle, Daryl Sorenson, at Bakersfield.
Wednesday evening dinner guests at the Oliver Mohn's were Jennifer Mohn who just returned from doing mission work in Honduras and will be returning to school at Lincoln, Ill.; Justin McKnight from Longmont, Colo.; and Russel Haug and Kara Bartell of Hesston.
On Sunday Paul and Arlene Pankratz and Oliver and Marcella Mohn of Hillsboro and Gaylord and Valera Hamm of Durham were dinner guests at the Gus Hamms near Tampa. The dinner was for Gus' birthday.
Celia Gross traveled to York, Neb., on Saturday where she met her sister, Ida Gross from Sioux Falls, S.D. From there they went to Aurora, Neb., and attended funeral services for Lu Janzen's mother, Ann Nachtigall. Celia returned to Hillsboro Saturday evening.
