Round the town: Kent Beckers host engagement party

Pearl Koch, Mary Helen Becker, and Geneive Belton attended a Sunday evening engagement party for Todd Becker and Laura Cupps at the home of Todd's parents, Kent and Ginger Becker of Durham.

Herb, Trudy, and Andrew Pankratz of Abilene, Elmer, Dorothy, and Jay Seibel, Luella Burkhardt of Newton, and Gus and Mildred Hamm of Tampa were Friday visitors at the Paul Pankratzs.

Mr. and Mrs. Terry Medley and family of Topeka, Mr. and Mrs. Rick Medley and family of Galva, Denise Kostelac, Avery and Tasha of Shawnee, and Freida Birkle were Sunday guests for a belated Easter dinner at the home of Betty Medley.

Ruth VanderWilt accompanied the Dr. R.J. Tippins Friday to K-State where the Tippins' daughter, Laurel sang in the college girls' choir.

Ruth VanderWilt and Mary Ellen Tippin flew Tuesday to Virginia to attend the wedding of Ruth's granddaughter. Sarah Ebbers and Frances Thorton West were married Saturday evening.

Dave and Shirley Weibert went Sunday to Haven to see their new great-granddaughter, Jordan Ann, born to David and Nancy White. Jordan was welcomed into the family by two brothers.

Jeryl Mohn of Sugarland, Texas, spent several days with his parents, Oliver and Marcella Mohn. Bob, Karen, and Tiffany Haug of Jetmore, Ryan Haug, Risa Fadenrecht, and Gordon and Vicky Mohn were Sunday dinner guests.

Mr. and Mrs. Malvin Schmidt, Wilma Schmidt, and Alma Rempel attended Wednesday memorial services for their cousin, Edison Balzer, at Grace Memorial Church at McPherson. Burial was in French Creek Cemetery, rural Hillsboro.

Malvin and Darlene Schmidt and Leroy Schmidt of McPherson spent the weekend at the home of Malvina and Brittany Heinrichs at Broken Arrow, Okla. They attended the Saturday band concert of the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith. Malvina's son, Eric Heinrich is a band member.
