Round-the-Town: Schmidts visit granddaughter at McPherson

Malvin and Darlene Schmidt visited their granddaughter, Abbey Schmidt Tuesday at McPherson for her birthday. The Schmidts met Wednesday for a family breakfast in Hutchinson. Other family members attending were Darlene's sister, Joyce Graber of Jacksonville, Ill., her sister, Ima Elwell of Inman, their niece and husband Gabrielle and Joe Magliano and brother-in-law Gary Graber, all of Reno, Nev. They attended visitation for Marybell Graber at Elliott Mortuary in Hutchinson.
Trudy Pankratz and Andrew Pankratz of Abilene visited Wednesday afternoon at the Paul Pankratz home.
Betty Medley hosted Thanksgiving dinner for her family, Freida Birkle, Jenny Medley and children of Topeka, Rick and Rhonda Medley and family of Galva, Chris and Denise Kostelec and family of Kansas City, and Joe and Betty Kostelec of Kansas City, Mo.
Doug and Debbie Dick and boys were among other family as guests for Thanksgiving dinner at the home or Howard and Norma Schmidt, rural Hillsboro.
Elgin and Rubena Bartel were guests for Thanksgiving dinner at the home of Ron and Loretta Paxton in Wichita. The Paxton family also were guests.
Mike and Chelsea Penner and Zoe of Newton were Thanksgiving dinner guests Sunday at the Dennis Penner home.
Thirty-four members of the late Bill and Leah Hamm family had Thanksgiving dinner at Durham City Building. Family from Hillsboro who were present were Oliver and Marcella Mohn, Jason and Rachel Mohn and family, Tim and Donna Diener and Marissa, and Paul and Arlene Pankratz. Others attending were Bob and Karen Haug and Tiffany of Jetmore, Ryan Haug and Risa Fadenrecht from Tabor College, Justin and Jenny McKnight of Salina, David and Sherilyn Kadel of Randall, Ken Pankratz and Gaylord and Valera Hamm of Durham, Gus and Mildred Hamm of Tampa, Randy Hamm of Kansas City, Matt and Ginger Robert and son from Lebo, Larry and Bonnie Winter of Silver Lake, and Russell and Kara Haug of Wichita. Oliver and Marcella Mohn and Gaylord and Valera Hamm were hosts.
Marcella Mohn and Arlene Pankratz attended funeral services Saturday for their cousin, Julia (Kurtich) Coleman at Calvary United Methodist Church in Wichita.
Thanksgiving Day dinner guests at the Virgil Oblanders were Jonas and Kim Frantz of Tampa, Bert Oblander of Newton, and Chris and Melissa Oblander and Harlee of Park City. Virgil and Jean attended the 50th wedding anniversary Sunday for Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Strecker at St. Mark Church in Great Bend.
Mr. and Mrs. Willis Penner joined the Penner family Saturday evening for Thanksgiving dinner at Eden Mennonite Church activity center. On Sunday the Penners hosted the Pankratz Thanksgiving dinner at the Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church near Goessel.
Malvin and Darlene Schmidt and Jerry Schmidt of Salina spent from Thursday to Saturday with Malvina and Brittany Heinrichs at Broken Arrow, Okla. Additional Thanksgiving Day dinner guests were Eric Heinrichs of Fort Smith, Ark., Daniel Heinrichs, Kelly Gardner, Janathan McAdams, and Roshon Robinson, all of Broken Arrow.
Justin and Jenny McKnight of Salina were weekend guests at the Jason Mohns. Additional dinner guests Wednesday evening were Jeremy and Kristy Mohn and family of Overland Park and Oliver and Marcella Mohn.
