Accident reports
The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:
Anderson J. Oliver, 33, 6848 FM 995, Atlanta, Texas, backed his 1996 Ford F250 away from the fuel pumps in Johnson's parking lot at 12:30 p.m. July 17 and struck a 2000 Ford Econoline, belonging to Coffee Time Inc., Wichita. No one was injured, reports Deputy Rollin Schmidt.
Juie A. Canfield-Shandy, 51, 8009 W. 17th N., Wichita, was southbound on K-15 just north of U.S.-56 at 9:56 p.m. July 22 when a deer entered the roadway. The deer was struck by the 2002 Honda Accord, Canfield-Shandy was driving. Other passengers in the vehicle were Megan, 18, and Kaylee E. Carbiener, 1, of the home and Mary K. Meyer of Colorado Springs, Colo. No one was injured reports Deputy Aaron Waddell.
Marianne G. Prine, 49, 3567 Quail Creek, Ramona was westbound on 360th just east of Quail Creek at 9:05 p.m. July 25 when a deer came out of the north ditch and was struck by the 1992 Chevrolet Lumina Prine was driving. No one was injured, reports Undersheriff Randal Brazil.
Alvin Leroy Waddell, 62, 311 West Street, Centerville, Iowa, was westbound on U.S.-50/77 at 2:10 p.m. July 24. At the stop sign, Lyndsay Rae Sherbert, 15, 414 Heath Ave., Kinsley, pulled into the intersection and was struck by the 1995 Volvo Semi, owned by Rollin West Trucking, Centerville, Iowa, Waddell was driving. Sherbert was driving a 1998 Ford Taurus owned by William and LaDonna Sherbert, 317 N. Coble, Marion. Sherbert and passenger Alison Teri Cady, 16, 400 N. Cedar, Marion, were pronounced dead at the scene and taken to Zeiner Funeral Home. Waddell was not injured, reports Undersheriff Brazil.
